Backward planning beats to-do lists.
GoalBranch starts at the goal and works backward, branching it into smaller and smaller steps until one of them takes 20 minutes and you can do it today.
Watch a goal take itself apart
Type a goal. The tree does the rest, and every branch ends in something you can do today.
What do you want to achieve?
A list collects. A tree leads.
Forward plans die. Backward plans can’t drift.
Forward planning starts with what’s easy: day 1. By week three, the plan and the goal aren’t related anymore. (You have a note titled “GOALS 2025” that became “GOALS 2026” with the same five lines. We know.)
GoalBranch plans in the only direction that can’t drift. It starts at the finish line. It breaks your goal into branches, branches into steps, steps into things sized for a Tuesday evening, up to six levels deep. Rename any step and the tree adapts around it. Hate a branch? Tell it why, and it rewrites just that part.

Questions, answered
What is backward planning?+
Backward planning starts at your desired outcome and works toward today. Instead of listing tasks forward, you ask "what must be true for this goal to happen?" at every level, creating a logical tree where each branch is a prerequisite for the one above.
How does it know what steps to generate?+
GoalBranch builds a goal-specific plan from your stated goal, any domain context you provide, and the depth setting you choose. You can also tell it what to avoid when regenerating a branch.
Can I edit the generated tree?+
Yes. Every node is editable, deletable, or re-expandable. You can regenerate a single branch with new instructions without touching the rest of the tree.
Is there a free plan?+
Yes. The Free plan is free forever: 3 goal trees, breakdowns up to 4 levels deep, and full canvas access. No credit card required.
What happens to my trees if I cancel?+
Your trees stay readable. You keep access to everything you created, you just lose the ability to create new trees or expand further until you resubscribe.

Stop managing tasks. Start finishing goals.
Type the goal. GoalBranch works backward until your next 20-minute step is sitting in front of you. Free, no card required.
P.S. If there’s a goal that’s survived three phones in your notes app, it takes about ninety seconds to find out what its first step is.
